Lovely hotel, staff issues evident
- Was there anything you didn't like?The trip was ruined when I was informed while checking in that I had booked 2 rooms and that I had to pay for 2 rooms. I spent the entire trip chasing and arguing with both the hotel and Booking.com to finally get confirmation that I had only booked 1 room. The hotel tried to charged my credit card for the second room, this transaction was not authorised and it resulted in my credit card being declined. There were also service issues in the restaurant. I booked a half board rate. The 2nd night we were told there was no such rate meal for dinner available. This position was corrected after much discussion, it was embarrassing. If the hotel sells me a half board rate, then it should provide what I have paid for. If we had accepted what we were being told the 2nd night we would have left the restaurant and paid for food in an external venue. This is totally unacceptable from a 5 star hotel, you basically are selling rates that your staff are not aware of, resulting in the staff basically telling the guests that they are lying or stupid or mixed up. I really am tempted to flag all of these issues in an honest manner on social media.
Amazing long weekend in Berlin
- What did you like most?Amazing hotel in a perfect location surrounded by bars and restaurants and one of the Xmas markets literally 5 minutes walk away and the hop on hop off bus starts literally around the corner from the hotel
